Terry Wogan has made cult viewing out of the television coverage of this but radio presenter Ken Bruce competes manfully in the acerbic wit stakes, clearly well aware that the Eurovision is one phenomenon that no one could possibly take seriously, except of course the contestants and the organisers. Radio 2 listeners helped vote in the British entry, Come Back, so we have only ourselves to blame. (Peter Barnard, radio editor)
