The name of Richard Addinsell is known to most people only as the composer of the Warsaw Concerto, written for the celebrated wartime film
Dangerous Moonlight. But in a creative life spanning some 40 years, he wrote the scores for over 50 other films as well as music for the theatre, adapting his style to meet the varying demands of each decade.
Daniel Massey presents a programme revealing more about this fascinating composer and his music, including archive material as well as new recordings by the BBC Concert
Orchestra, conducted by Kenneth Alwyn with pianist Philip Martin.
