In the second of six programmes, Paul James presents some of the best European folk groups recorded during their visits to Britain. This week: music from Galicia, Spain, with Raparigos, who are a traditional band featuring three bagpipes and two oercussionists.

Georgina Boyes presents the first of six programmes looking at collecting folk songs. Most of what we know about folk songs has come from the collectors - middle-class people like
Cecil Sharp , Percy Grainger and Maude Karpeles - but in these programmes
Georgina Boyes also looks at the views of the singers whose songs were taken and brought to a wider audience. Among the performers in this first programme are
