Tim Grundy looks back over seven days of the Chester Summer Music Festival, which started on July 23. It is now in its 16th year and artistic director Andrew
Burn has increased the number of events taking place to make it more wide-ranging in its appeal. There are orchestral and chamber concerts, as well as ethnic music and brass bands.

Lucy Jeal and the western gamelan orchestra
Metalworks, who will also hold a workshop for children.
