Richard Astbury presents a portrait of the British Forces Broadcasting
Service, celebrating 50 years of Forces broadcasting this year.
Beginning in Algiers with a transmitter captured from the Germans in 1943, the service quickly spread through Italy, Austria and on to Germany - and beyond. Richard Astbury , who has been part of BFBS for the past 25 years, has compiled a selection of music, people and personalities who have worked for Forces radio over the last half century.
