Live commentary by SIMON SMITH on the 15-round contest, with inter-round summaries by FRED VERLANDER , from the ring-side at the Empire Pool, Wembley.
Joe Bugner, making his first appearance as a champion, defends one of the three titles he recently won from Henry Cooper when he steps into the ring to face Jurgen Blin , the challenger officially nominated by the European Boxing Union for the European ' Crown.'
Later this year Bugner is committed to defend his other two titles - the British and the Empire Championships - against Jack Bodell. The European Championship will then also be at stake if Bugner retains that title tonight.
