presents music with the Accent on Melody
Steve Race today takes over from Sam Costa for four weeks. He is probably best known for his part in such light-hearted series as My Music! and Many a Slip, and as presenter of jazz programmes, including Jazz Record Requests on Saturdays in the Music Programme. Recently he has been in Home This Afternoon, Roundabout, and Any Questions? As a composer his works are very wide-ranging indeed - including popular music (he won the Ivor Novello Award in 1962 for 'Nicola'), film documentary scores, and works specially commissioned by Third Programme.
