Barrie and Daffy Hancock have gone on holiday to Corfu without telling anyone that they were going. Chris and Rosie have been playing up Stella Collins. the new tenant at the Shelling. Mrs. Freeman has met one of the Dales' new neighbours, a Mrs. Latymer. Neville Jackson's younger brother and his wife have arrived unexpectedly and at an inopportune moment in Exton.
