The Starlight Express. Today Anthony Payne joins Stephen Johnson to introduce
Violet Pearn 's captivating fantasy play of 1915 for children of all ages, taken from
Algernon Blackwood 's novel A Prisoner in Fairyland. For this broadcast of 1965, the play was adapted and produced for radio by Raymond Raikes and the original incidental music by Edward Elgar was edited by Lionel Salter.
