In this programme on South Indian classical music John Levy introduces a recital of Karnatic music consisting of Talawadyam Kachcheri, music for rhythmic instruments; a Ragamalika played by Shankaranarayana Pannikar on the Nagaswaram. the South Indian oboe: and a devotional song by Purandara Dasa (1484-1564). known as the Father of Karnatic Music.
