Paul McCartney talks to
Andy Peebles , exclusively for Radio 1. about his new album - his first for two years - ' Tug of War ', featuring some of the tracks and giving an insight into how the album was made.
' George Martin and I said " We'll take as long as we need over this album, so it's roughly a year since I started talking to George."
What's happened to the record business is that now you have vour deadlines and budgets and if you're doing what George and I were attempting to do which istodoanalbumwhich we enjoyed making and that would please us, then you find yourself saying " We haven't got it right today " and so we find ourselves taking a lot of time trying to do it better.'
