Louise Botting and the Money Box team enter their 10th year at an exciting and challenging time. The next few months wul see dramatic changes in the way that the financial markets operate, as the so-called 'Big Bang' opens up competition in the City on an international scale. Meanwhile, new safeguards are being introduced for investors under the Financial Services legislation due to come into force in 1987; the building societies will be keen to exploit the freedom they have been given to provide much wider services to customers, such as personal loans and insurance; and the whole framework of pensions and social security is undergoing radical reform.
Listen in for impartial advice and the latest update on financial matters.

Serial: Under the Red Robe by STANLEY J. WEYMAN abridged in ten episodes by JACK SINGLETON
Read by Nigel Anthony
When Gil de Berault is arrested for duelling, he is faced with two choices - death, for that is the penalty in Cardinal Richelieu's France, or to carry out an unsavoury spying mission. This swashbuckling tale of romance and derring-do was Woman's Hour's first ever serial in October 1946.
