Blind; another 60,000 are partially sighted. This means that roughly one in every 300 of us faces life in a sighted world at an overwhelming disadvantage. Here, for 45 minutes, is an opportunity to share some of that experience.... ' I woke up in hospital, and I said " I'm in the wrong place here ", feeling the bedclothes. But I just had to accept it. and say " Go on from here." I just felt betrayed.'
Nobody, it is said, goes blind without crying. But sooner or later, with the help of rehabilitation experts, special training, a small amount of technology and a large slice of courage, the crying has to stop.
