starring Sybil Thorndike
Four of the great scenes from St Joan by BERNARD SHAW chosen by Dame Sybil, who acts her original role in this play which took London by storm in 1924. ' It's 43 years since Dame Sybil Thorndike first played Shaw's St Joan. Yesterday Dame Sybil was at it again, playing the part of the 19-year-old Saint and sounding totally convincing. That's quite an achievement at the age of 42 but at 85 it's just incredible' (SUNDAY TIMES: 28 May 1967) with Walter Fitzgerald , Ian McKellen Clive Morton. Michael Spice and Alan Wheatley

A recent strike, growing militancy and strife between the eight teachers' unions in England and Wales have focused attention on their dissatisfaction with pay.
