Tom Harrisson, co-founder with Charles Madge of Mass Observation, parachuted into Borneo in 1945 to help organise resistance against the Japanese. He stayed as Curator of the Sarawak Museum and government ethnologist until the mid-60s. Anthropologist, zoologist, author, academic, he is still living a full life working in two universities and commuting between America, Europe and Asia.
