There are few who think of death with equanimity and accept the end as a matter of course when it is approaching Leslie Smith has been talking during the past year or so to a wide range of people about the final stage of human life in order to gain insight into attitudes to death.
He recorded conversations with dying men and women: interviewed doctors and psychologists who are professionally concerned with dying patients: and discussed with members of their families the strains of standing by those who are dying.
