Georg Buchner died in 1837 at the age of 23. He is perhaps best known as the author of the play from which Alban Berg took his opera Wozzeck. He was so far ahead of his time that many people do not realise that he was writing in the early 19th century. Both Woyzeck and Danton's Death are extremely relevant today. Do the Polls Hold the Key*
Is it skill in timing - or lack of it - that is the main factor in determining the occupancy of Number 10? This is the sphere in which the role of the Polls can be crucial, and it is therefore important to examine the principles to which they should subscribe. In this the second broadcast in Radio Four's Special Election Year series, MICHAEL SHIELDS , Chairman of National Opinion Polls, is questioned by ANTHONY KING , Professor of Government, Essex University.
