Alf decides to put his house on the market and move into the Reads' as their lodger, but falls foul of Min's amorous advances.

Min orders Bert to lose weight by jogging. Alf keeps pace on a bike, but before long they end up in the pub.

Mike points out the Garnetts' windows haven't been washed in years. Alf decides to get stuck in and clean them himself.

Alf and Bert join the golf club. After a poor round, they decide to improve their standing by faking their scores.

Alf loses his job and comes home to find he may have been burgled. It's an unhappy birthday but a surprise is in store.

Life in the Reads' household is very different for Alf - especially when, as he gets back from work, Min is in no rush to make his dinner.
