Glasgow has been called 'the astonishing city' because of the unique character given it by its dominant pattern of terraces and tenements superimposed on a topography of ridges and burns. But Glasgow's civic problems are worse than astonishing: in this programme representative citizens discuss with Reyner Banham the fate and future of Glasgow's urban character, as the Corporation prepares to demolish, for comprehensive redevelopment, far more of the city than was laid waste by the sack of 1544.
