Le Mystère de la Charité de Jeanne d'Arc by Charles Péguy in a translation by JULIEN GREEN recited by Flora Robson
The programme adapted and produced by CHRISTOPHER SYKES based on a suggestion by Alexander Dru
This Meditation is one speech from Charles Penuy's poetic drama Le Mystere de la Charité de Jeanne d'Arc which occurs when the young Joan noes to ' Madame Gervaise,' a Franciscan nun, to know the Church's teaching on the doctrine of the loss of souls. In answer Mme. Gervaise recites the events of the Passion with reference to the words of the psalm: ' My God, my God, look upon me. why hast thou forsaken me?
