Donald Gilbert has been a ' gramofan ' for many years. In this afternoon's programme he will recall happy musical memories from a life-story that might well be entitled ' From Pierrot to Theatre-Owner '.
As Chairman of Newcastle Repertory Company, he has built up its reputation to a high level. Today the Newcastle Playhouse is recognised as the home of one of this country's leading repertory groups.
