The Kymric Oriana Madrigal Choir was formed in 1921 to explore the old Welsh Glee Period from 1860 to the eighties of the last century. Then the Choir began to study the Elizabethan Madrigal Period, following this up with a study of the English Glee Period from Arne to Sir Henry Bishop. The Choir first broadcast from Cardiff in August, 1934, and since that date has broadcast frequently. With very few exceptions, the programmes given have all been Welsh.
This is the fourth Commemoration Programme to be undertaken by this body of singers, the last being 'Dathliad Daucanmlwyddiant y Methodistiaid Calfinaidd' in June, 1935. A section of the Choir appeared at the Command Performance at the Albert Hall last May. Since the Choir was formed sixteen years ago, it has entered open competition ten times, and has won six first prizes and two second prizes.

An appeal on behalf of THE ROYAL SURGICAL AID SOCIETY 
(Bristol Branch) by the Rt. Rev. the Lord Bishop of BRISTOL 
The Bristol Dranch of the Royal Surgical Aid Society was founded between 35 and 40 years ago by the parent society. The object of the Society is to supply surgical appliances to all those who need them, but have not the means to afford them. The Bristol branch covers a large area, for, in addition to its work in the city of Bristol and the outlying districts, it also deals with cases in South Wales, Herefordshire, Wiltshire and Somerset.
