John Hart presents Francis Laidler's Pantomime
Relayed from The Prince's Theatre, Bristol
This evening listeners are to hear fifty minutes of Dick Whittington, the sixty-seventh pantomime to be produced at the Prince's Theatre, Bristol, which has long been recognised as the home of pantomime in the South-west of England.
A Francis Laidler pantomime is always a good one, and everything has been done to make Dick Whittington the best ever. That well-known and charming artist Mona Vivian is taking the name part, and many will have heard her broadcast in 'Back to Town - the return of the seaside concert party' in October. With Billy Merson as Idle Jack - he showed the fine form he is in in a recent 'Music-Hall' - listeners should have a treat tonight, and get many a laugh too from Maimie Holland as the Dame.
