David Lloyd , a native of Trelogan, near Holy well, won an open scholarship for which two hundred tenors were competing, which enabled him to study at the Guildhall. He is the winner of the Sam Heilbut scholarship, the Sir Frederick Painter prize, and the Alfred and Catherine Howard prize. He was one of the soloists at the National Eisteddfod held at Machynlleth last year.
Tom Williams was at one time a steel-worker at Dafen, Llanelly. He has won hundreds of prizes in Eisteddfodau and has sung in oratorio throughout the country. In the National Eisteddfod held at Wrexham he was the winner of the baritone solo competition.
