The projected new North Road is a topic widely discussed in Wales today. The suggestion is that a new road should be constructed to link
North and South Wales in the best possible way, connecting Cardiff with Llandudno or Colwyn Bay and passing through Brecon and Builth and from Builth to Rhayadcr. The trend of the suggested route is along the banks of the Wye, through very beautiful country, and thence via Llanidloes, Staylittle, Llanbrynmair, Llanymawddy, and over the mountain range near Bwlch y Groes to
Llanuwychllyn and Bettws-y-Coed.
