Excerpts from programmes for the week beginning September 25
In this ' trailer' of next week's
Scottish programmes, listeners will hear excerpts from the recorded programme describing the building of the Queen Elizabeth which is to be broadcast on Monday, September 26, the eve of the launch. Other programmes from which excerpts will be taken will be ' Ballad Days ' and 'My Old Shako', and there will also be a foretaste of the music to be played during the week.
The man responsible for this programme trailer is David Bernard , who either offers you selections from the actual programmes or brings authors or producers to the microphone to talk about them. His title is Studio Assistant (Productions), which means that he assists producers generally by managing the actors in the studios in Scottish productions. He is also well-known as an interviewer in 'Who's Here?' and sometimes takes part in shows as an actor. A Scot by birth and still young, he has worked in England, the United States, and South America.
Before he joined the BBC he knew
American broadcasting from the inside, as he worked as a free-lance for the National Broadcasting Company and the Columbia Broadcasting System and was later on the staff of the third great American network, the Mutual Broadcasting System.
