Pescetii (1704-1766)

Locatelli (1693-1764)
Locatelli, a pupil of the great Corelli, became a celebrated violinist. He wrote a number of virtuoso pieces for the violin, caprices and etudes, as well as serious sonatas and concertos which prove him to have been an excellent musician. Undoubtedly, he did much to extend the natural resources of the violin.

Sonata, Op. 5, No. 10, for two violins and pianoforte
Bassani (1657-1716)
Bassani, an eminent violin player and composer, was director of the Cathedral Music of Bologna and Ferrara. He wrote three oratorios, six operas, and a considerable number of instrumental and choral works, including two sets of sonatas for two violins with bass. It is generally believed that Corelli was his pupil.
