Twenty Minutes of his Songs and Stories
Presented by his son
JAMES FRAME FLINT
This is a programme which all listeners over the age of thirty will enjoy. They will remember the late W. F. Frame, affectionately known as ' Great Willie ', who was in his time one of the finest entertainers in Scotland. With his own vaudeville company he toured Scotland from John o' Groats to Stranraer for over forty years. His versatility was such that he could make his audience roar with laughter one minute and literally cry the next. He was the first Scots comedian to make a 'hit in London and topped the bill at the Alhambra in the 1903/4 season. His performances were always scrupulously ' clean' and his dresses or costumes masterpieces of the stage... He burlesqued, but he never ridiculed and in this respect he was very different from most Scots comics. Although a comedian, his sentimental readings were greatly appreciated.
J. Frame Flint, W. F. Frame 's son, who has devised and presents tonight's programme, is certain of a large and appreciative audience.
