Mr. Swainson began his professional career in Harrogate and went to Aberdeen in 1916 as organist of Queen's Cross Church. He was the founder of the Aberdeen Oratorio Choir which broadcasts tonight, and there are few musical activities in Aberdeen which do not owe something to Mr. Swainson's active help or enthusiasm.
