by Norman Walker (bass)
Several famous musicians have taken a particular interest in Norman Walker 's singing ever since he began to sing in public, and have given him kindly encouragement. Walker is an Oldham man now living in London, where he gained a number of awards during training. For some time he studied at the Royal Manchester College, of Music. The Gracie Fields film, Sing as We Go, afforded him a part (for which he had to shave his head!), and he played Jem Slocombe in the screen version of Lorna Doone.
