A description by Northern scouts who have just returned from Holland
(From Newcastle)
The World Scout Jamboree at Vogelenzang, opened on July 31 by Her Majesty the Queen of Holland, came to an end yesterday, Friday, August 13. Over 25,000 scouts from all parts of the world-from Britain the contingent was so large, 8,000 in all, that eight special steamers were used for the North Sea crossing-met to make it the biggest scout assembly ever held outside this country. There will be several speakers in this programme, all of them scouts, and listeners will hear eye-witness accounts of their experiences. A scoutmaster will act as compere.
