The ' Sheffield Independent' an eye-witness account of the final of the Men's Individual Championship, by Charles Rockliff
That the Sheffield Independent championship is a great event in the crown bowls world is evident from the fact that this year entries have almost reached the huge total of 6,000. For some years the candidates have represented clubs from many areas in Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire. Important games such as the one listeners will hear described this evening are played at Millhouses, Sheffield, and this particular competition is under the rules of the British Crown Green Amateur Bowling Association.
Charles Rockliff , who is to give this talk, is a Leeds man who is a great authority on bowls and bowling greens.
