Tonight's ceremony is the climax of what is, in many ways, the finest motor-cycling meeting in the world. All riders who have finished within a certain time of the winner get a small silver replica of the trophy. It is interesting to note that riders in the junior race on Tuesday, September 8, competed for a trophy presented by the relatives of Douglas J. Pirie , as a memorial to that young racing motor-cyclist, who was killed in one of the T.T. races last year.
