Captain R. H. Davis
Before the American War of Independence there appear to have been no vessels that were purely privateers, though some carried a ' Letter of Marque ' empowering them to capture or destroy enemy ships. One of these was the Sally, whose skipper gaily took his passengers and cargo many miles out of their way in search of booty. Captain Davis will include something about this ship in this talk.
