A selection of letters written by Ulster men and women, reflecting their lives and times
Nowadays, few of us can write a good letter. We may manage with smug facility a daily dictation about communications of the 29th ult. to hand, but how many of us ever write a letter worth keeping ? It was not so in' the leisured days of a century ago, as this programme, built up of letters, will show. The Ulster correspondents whose missives have been chosen may not have been de Scvignes, or Burneys, or Chesterfields, but their letters will provide an illuminating commentary on the life and thought, the events and the affairs of their time. They may even stimulate a dying art-who knows ?
