This combination, the second band to be featured in this series, was established in 1886. All the players are boot and shoe workers employed by contractors to the Government. Their fine musicianship has resulted in the Gaining of several honours. At Skegness Carnival in 1934, for instance, Raunds Band won many awards ; for three years it held the championship of Northamptonshire ; and in the Crystal Palace Grand Shield Section it has won every prize except the first.
