Lord Bledisloe, who has just returned from serving for five years as Governor-General of New Zealand, is a prominent landowner and farmer in Gloucester-shire, and one of the leading authorities on agriculture in the country. He is a former President of the Central Chamber of Agriculture, was Chairman of the Commissions on Land Drainage and on Sugar, and is a Verderer of the Forest of Dean. For several years he was Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture.
