MANTLE-CHILDE
Pianoforte Trio in D minor, Op. 25
THE centenary of the birth of Francis Edward Bache was celebrated in Birmingham in September. He died at the early age of twenty-five, leaving a number of works for pianoforte and orchestra and two operas. Walter Bache , his younger brother, was a pupil of Liszt, and introduced many important works by that master to England. The pianist, George Mantle-Childe , is a great-nephew of these talented Birmingham brothers.
