The Play produced by Bertram Fryer
The story of this new romantic comedy with music concerns a young and struggling composer deserted on the eve of the production of the opera that is to bring him fame. A charming stranger from the flat downstairs comes to the rescue... misunderstandings follow, and then, with success, reconciliation. Elena Danieli, the famous opera singer, who took part in a broadcast of Offenbach's La Belle Helene earlier in the year, heads a strong cast. Many arresting effects are made possible by new production facilities-perhaps the high spot being the recreation of the atmosphere of the 'first night' triumph at the theatre, on both sides of the curtain.
