Herrick's simple little song of the lady whom ' I did but see ... passing by, And yet I love her till I die.' The most popular setting is that known as Passing By, by someone who bears the great name of Purcell. Here is a setting by one of the most remarkable of our younger contemporaries, Peter Warlock , who ' in real life ' is Philip Heseltine , composer, musical author, and journalist.
MAURICE BESLY, composer of Weathers, was born. at Normanby, Yorkshire, thirty-eight years ago. He was for some time organist of Queen's College, Oxford, and is well known as an orchestral conductor.
