The Bristol Society operates in a wide area, as the Bristol Prison serves the greater part of the counties of Gloucester, Somerset and Wilts, the prisons at Devizes and Shepton Mallet having recently closed down. It has a Young Prisoners' Department, in which lads between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one are received from all parts of the country.
