In Facet No. 5 we gave several contrasting examples of 'The Weaker Vessel,' ranging from the time of Ancient Greece to the eighteenth century. We saw that more than 2,000 years ago Hippolytus asked a question about the alleged 'Weaker Vessel,' which is still being asked today, though it still remains unanswered. When we come to modern times, it appears more clearly than ever that woman is everything but 'The Weaker Vessel,' though it seems to suit both her convenience and man's! to keep the myth alive.
