A Play in One Act by Herbert J. Brunel Evans.
Characters:
Mind Picture: The kitchen at the house of William Williams: near the back door, which opens direct into the kitchen, there is a window. On the mantelshelf stand three brass candlesticks and other ornaments. Beside the fireplace there is a large arm-chair, behind which, let into the wall, is a china cupboard. A mirror and several pictures hang on the walls. In the room there is a table, a chest of drawers, several chairs, and, in a corner, a sewing-machine. Jane has nearly finished her Saturday cleaning, and is dusting a few ornaments. Mrs. Williams is searching in the chest of drawers for odd bits of braid and material. A folded newspaper lies on one of the chairs. Ann speaks.
