DREAMS was originally one of a set of five songs which Wagner wrote in 1857. Two of them were later published as ' Studies for Tristan and Isolde.' While Wagner was working upon this Music-Drama he found a melody from the song Dreams constantly recurring to his mind, and used it in the love music of the drama. Of the song itself lie said : ' It is more beautiful than anything else I have done.' Later he arranged the song for Small Orchestra.
