Listeners are asked to imagine that they are seated opposite the centre of the arena in which the Tattoo is taking place. The various detachments would enter at one end, perform their evolutions and retire by the opposite exit.
These evolutions, and the presence of the detachments performing them, will be suggested by specially arranged Sound Effects.
