Scene : The office of Lomas and Fenwick, Solicitors, Lincoln's Inn.
Lomas and Fenwick are partners in a firm of solicitors. Both are enamoured of Helen Wingrave, the office typist. Their infatuation causes some ridiculous situations, of which their final jilting by the lady is not the least amusing.
