VOICE QUARTET There still exist here and there copies of the early editions of' Irish Melodies ', with poems by Thomas Moore , to airs which he borrowed from various earlier sources, changing them to suit his own poetry where necessary. The series, published between 1807 and 1834, was one of the most popular collections of songs in the whole of musical history, and wherever music was made they were known throughout the length and breadth of the land.
