Midday Spin
The spinning world of David Jacobs is a busy, seven-days-a-week affair. Apart from his Midday Spin each Thursday, and playing the hits - and misses - in Juke Box Jury, and Top of the Pops, he switches from pop to preside over Saturday's late-night programme, Hot Line on BBC-1. Occasionally he takes time off to be an actor - he starred in the thriller serial Follow That Man on the Light last October. But it is as a leading DJ (his initials aptly fit the bill) that Jacobs makes his mark. Many listeners might doubt that he has time before the broadcasts to listen to all the new discs he introduces. In fact, for Midday Spin alone he listens to fifty records each week - including the 'B' sides - to select his choice. Between discs he keeps you up to date with news - as well as personal views - of his crowded week of pop.
