Mrs. Dale consulted the Vicar, who talked to Dr. Dale. Dr. Dale admitted that he had been extremely worried by recent events and had been trying to hide his anxiety from his wife. But he returned home in a different frame of mind, and a happy evening of reminiscence brought the two of them back to their usual harmony. Now they look forward to the birth of Gwen's third child.
