There has been another burglary in Exton; this time at Bill Elliot's home 'The Castle,' while he and Bess were having dinner with the Dales. Commander Clive has arranged a party at Marsham Grange at which he hopes to arouse interest in his 'Island scheme.' Mrs. Dale, concerned about Mr. Devenish's domestic arrangements, called on him to offer assistance but was rebuffed. Mrs Freeman has decided that Hillside Hall should enter a 'float' in the carnival procession, representing the 'Young in Heart'.
